About Awesome |
|
|
Awesome Upholstery began as Geneva
Upholstery back in 1999 by local brothers Greg and Glenn Ward,
who have over 36 years combined experience in the upholstery
and soft furnishings trade.
From humble beginnings working out of a shed built by their
father in the back of their parents back garden in St.Ives,
Cambridgeshire to running The Upholstery Shop again in St.Ives
town centre for over two years, they now work from a converted
stable block in Great Stukeley, Huntingdon which once housed the
world famous race horse “Red Rum”.
From here they have created a showroom, extensive workshop
facilities and ample space for all types of vehicles and
furniture.
Their Custom Upholstery business has certainly been tested by a
wide range of influential customers who include Vodafone,
Motorola, Stuff Magazine, Sixty Minute Makeover Show and more
locally Lola Cars International to name but a few.
They have undertaken a diverse range of projects over the
years which include:-
Converting a Green Goddess fire engine into a seven seater
limousine.
Sixties retro egg chair for “Shure” headphone promotion in
Heathrow airport lounge.
Classic Volkswagen bus converted into a phone promotion bus for
Vodafone.
Tour bus interior in pink leather for the Sugarbabes.
Bespoke leather racing car seats for Lola Cars at the 2007
Autosport International show.
Have exhibited their own range of custom furniture at
the very first Grand Designs Live show in 2005.
Looking to the future, Awesome’s custom upholstery service
continues to grow even in the toughest of business climates with
a portfolio which now includes curtains, blinds, fabrics and
sundry sales.
Partner Glenn Ward comments, “Recognising the change in the
market and reacting to it by diversifying our business has been
the key to our growing success”
“This has also been driven by our ethics of doing a great job
and looking after our customers, which rewards us in turn with
quality leads by referral and real job satisfaction”.
